prime example – early on the main character meets a troll, big green and muscular chap. Later he runs into the trolls sister and finds out that female trolls, though still green, are very voluptuous and callled … trollops.

In later books we found out the smartest character in the group was the one who could only say the word Gleep. After 12 books I thought that was hysterical.

@James me too!

Terry Pratchette – satire, humor of his Discworld. Ilona Andrews – Kate Daniels series, sarcastic humor in Urban Fantasy.

@Nancy love kate daniels! Was so sad the series ended.

Nancy

Yes, Kate won’t be the main character anymore, but still expect her to pop up from time to time as they write about Julie & Erra. I like all of Ilona Andrew’s books & am enjoying Sweep of the Blade they’ve posted on their webpage. Go ripper cushions!

Good Omens by Pratchett&Gaiman. Also the Magicians trilogy by Lev Grossman for a bit of darker humor.

The King of the Trees is really good. It’s similar to Narnia. Not very well known at all, the author is a local in my state and even most here never heard of it. But it’s a legit series
