I’m not sure if it counts as biography but A Piece of Cake by cupcake brown was an amazing book. It’s her memoirs and she isn’t a celebrity
I read that years ago! It was so good but heartbreaking 😣
I just checked it out online.
Townie by Andres Dubus III is a good one
Spitfire Girl by Jackie Moggridge
Mountains Beyond Mountains. It’s about Dr. Paul Farmer who started Partners in Health to provide healthcare to people in Haiti.
Hillbilly Elegy by J.D. Vance
I read that and loved it. He’s a skilled writer.
I’m liking it so far! I’m about halfway done 🙂
Richard Ellmann on Wilde, Joyce and Yeats. Peter Ackroyd on More, Dickens, and Eliot.
I’m reading The Professor and the Madman by Simon Winchester right now. Really good. It’s about the creation of the Oxford English Dictionary.
What I should have said: It’s about William Chester Minor, the largest contributor of quotes in the Oxford English Dictionary.
I enjoyed this book.
Hands of my Father Myron Uhlberg
A memoir I liked is riding with dead people by monica holloway
Wedlock by Wendy Moore. The Biography of the first woman to obtain a divorce in eighteenth century Britain. It will make you cry but ultimately make you cheer for this heroic woman.
It’s What I Do by Lynsey Addario
Runs with scissors and Dry by Augusten Burroughs, Walking with the wind by John Lewis (about civil rights) is fantastic ❤️❤️. Yeah that’s all I got right now!
Katherine Graham’s autobiography, fascinating!
Barbarian Days:a Surfing Life
You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by Felicia Day. I read the book and the Audio book. The family enjoyed the Audio version together.
Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wall. Its about her life growing up and then escaping a polygamist sect.
The Rebellious Life of Mrs. Rosa Parks by Jeanne Theoharis. Rosa Parks is famous but her full bio isn’t well known.
