C.J Sansom’s Tudor Series with Matthew Shardlake as the Hunchbacked Lawyer turned Detective. There are 6 in the Series with the last one out next month . They are in order : Dissolution, Dark Fire Sovereign Revelation Heartstone Lamentation Tombland ( out Next month) Best read in order as they mention things from the previous book. You don’t have to but if reading halfway through the series it be confusing!

Donald E. Westlake (writing under th e name Richard Stark) 1970s wrote two series: Parker – 21 or so in series. And Dortmunder, more humorous crime series. Also if your looking for a crime series with the same detective, why not Sherlock Homes. 1895 – 1900. Travis McGee is also good 1970, by John D. McDonald. (Colors in the titles).
Lots of terrific ideas here already but in case you want more here are a couple of shorter Series by French authors. Jean-Claude Izzo, the first title is One Helluva Mess. Terrific on atmosphere, set in Marseille. Philippe Georget, first in series is Summertime All The Cats Are Bored. Love the main character, has some personal problems but they never overwhelm the story. Whatever you choose, enjoy.
Andrew Mayne’s Jessica Blackwood novels. Pretty cool. She’s an ex magician and sees through the illusions of the criminals. I think there’s only 3 books so far though.
