I listened to them as audiobooks… Got 75% of the way through the 2nd book and realized I didn’t care anymore. The movies (for me) were more concise and compelling. The books were lackluster

I really enjoyed The Hunger Games trilogy. The first book was the best of the three and the last book was the weakest but they are still really good books.

Honestly the books were a lot better than the movies, although the movies weren’t bad either. I’m with Lisa on the fact that I loved 1 and 2, 3 was so so. It wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great either

Great series but I think Peeta/pita bread is a dumb name. There I said it

I am against the concept of children being forced to murder each other for sport. For adult entertainment.

Wasn’t a fan. I had to read them in school and I hated them. Movies arnt any better. I’ve never picked up a book and hated it until I discovered the hunger games.

Why did you hate them? I didn’t like them bc of little kids murdering each other.

1
Ashley

I just hate them. Idk what it is about them. I tried with the movies maybe I just missed something and that’s why I didn’t like them. Tried the first movie couldn’t even watch it all the way. I just hated it

Quinn

That’s cool.

It was an interesting idea but not written well in my opinion. The dialogue wasn’t realistic so it sounded unnatural in the movies. The third book was just terrible, I didn’t even watch the last movie. They’re quick easy reads though.

I remember reading the first in seventh grade and absolutely loving it. For whatever reason, I only got halfway through the second and never finished.

I found it to be an okay read, the idea itself was very interesting, but book two annoyed me a lot and book three was extremely boring at times, then much too fast and chaotic at others. All in all I don’t feel like it quite lived up to its hype.

Initially, I did not want to read them as it was said to be ‘young adult’. Finally gave in and absolutely enjoyed the whole of it!

I know people who hate them because of how mainstream they became, but I absolutely love them. I think they are a great read.
