Finishing the chapter has to happen! Although I am one of those who then say, oh I’ve only got x chapters left, I’ll keep reading. Then I don’t stop until I read the whole book which then leads to me not sleeping because I’m thinking about what happened in the book!

This only happens if I have insomnia, or at Christmas time. Other than that I have to work. So I’m forced to cut myself off at a certain point.

Love short chapter books for this reason. But I will stop. Reading too long at night just makes me sleepy and I don’t retain what I read.

If I can’t make it to the end of a chapter, I’ll aim for a paragraph, however more often then not my paperwhite slips out of my hand and hits me in the nose. Lights out!

Me! Although, the kindle tells me how long it should take me to read the chapter so before I start, I weigh the odds of me falling asleep before I finish the chapter!

Sometimes I fall asleep in my chair trying. I once woke up to find that I listened to the reminder of my audiobook while dozing.

Oh I can go to bed, I just can’t sleep until I finish the chapter and then, invariably, I’ll start a few lines of the next chapter and then I have to finish that one too!

0

Eileen

That’s me to a tee!! 🙂 If the chapter ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, I’m instantly looking to see how many pages there are in the next one to work out if I can read it. If it’s a short one – I inevitably do, then I inevitably end up in the same quandary when I get to the end of that chapter!!! ??

Generally I can’t put the book down ever if there’s not at least a break. Which usually is only each new chapter so yeah.
