I zone out and miss too much and have to go back too frequently. I tried it, it wasn’t for me. I like the concept though, of being able to listen and do other things.
I’d listen to them while I used to lie in my toddler son’s room while I was trying to put him to sleep. I’d just plug my headphones in and let my screen go dark. Then sneak out when he’s finally fall asleep. Haha. I also like them while I’m doing laundry or dishes!
I love audiobooks, but I prefer reading, and I find most audiobooks are also expensive, so a small percentage of my reading is done this way, but I still enjoy them.
I guess they have to pay the voice actor on top of all the other costs, and then maybe production for a cd. But, yeah, expensive. Every now and then I find one for cheap.
I listen to them in the car and at work. They help keep me sane, but the performer has to meet the material. If the actor is not sufficent it drives me crazy.
I did enjoy listening to a book on a recent road trip. Especially because I tend to get car sick if I read. I also like to listen to my current book while I knit.
I can’t read when I am cooking, cleaning, running around, on the computer etc. So I listen to audiobooks. It is fantastic! The read of the time I read 🙂
Love them. They have introduced me to authors and genres I may not have otherwise read. And when you get the right combination of author, story, and narrator it takes you straight into that world.
I listen to simple romance ones when I’m trying to fall asleep. Drowns out the snoring and the fan noise. Not to mention it stops me from thinking of what I need to do tomorrow.
I’ve started listening to them while cooking, cleaning, gardening or walking the dog. They can be really hit or miss for me which is why I download free audio books from the library or Librivox. My TBR has taken a massive hit! I think about 1/3 of the books I’ve finished this year were audio books.
Nope I I started as I thought I could get a head in my TBR pile but its taken twice as long now because when I finish the audio book I have to read the physical book after ?
No. I check out audiobooks from library and listen to them every day while I work. When I’m not at work I read books – but while I work I listen to audiobooks. I always listen to them sometimes on long trips in the car.
Love audio books, but I have to be walking when I listen. If I try to do so at bedtime, I wake up about 30 minutes later and have not idea where I am in the novel. ?
yes
Sometimes I don’t have the time to read a book I have 2 little ones
I zone out and miss too much and have to go back too frequently. I tried it, it wasn’t for me. I like the concept though, of being able to listen and do other things.

I love audiobooks, but I prefer reading, and I find most audiobooks are also expensive, so a small percentage of my reading is done this way, but I still enjoy them.
Yea! I don’t understand..why are they so expensive?? I was going to buy one but it was like 3x the cost of the book so I went with the book! Haha

Nope! I love them. I find them the most pleasurable when they’re books I’ve already read. I find it hard to focus if I haven’t read the book before.

Every night before I go to sleep. I love them!
I’ve started listening to them while cooking, cleaning, gardening or walking the dog. They can be really hit or miss for me which is why I download free audio books from the library or Librivox. My TBR has taken a massive hit! I think about 1/3 of the books I’ve finished this year were audio books.
