I’ve been there for 7 weeks over the summertime here in Michigan which was strangely hotter than previous years this year.It was really hard because I had been in a brace from April until May then a boot from May 23 to July 7. The day of my oldest brother’s birthday and the day after my oldest nephew’s birthday and my birthday was 2 weeks before that on the 15th of June. It was a big one for me this year. I was in so much pain and my injury happened because the original injury was healing but I waited 4 days after the first injury to get checked out it started to bruise first.

0
Michele

@Ashley Achilles Tendon surgery and bone spur. Bad time of the year to happen but had to be done.

0
Michele

@Sue thank you!

0
Ashley

wishing you a speedy recovery though as well.

0
Ashley

@Michele ouch I had tendonitis from a severely sprained ankle I had oct of last year and moved and then the pain got worse and had pain and was miserable for months until about July then it started feeling better but now that winter is here in my state it’s getting painful again

0
Megan

Listening to an audio book while painting Christmas presents and doing laundry. I alternate between listening to the story and picking up the actual book to read. Makes it where I never have to put my book down. Lol

Jeanette Cain Bolt that’s multitasking at its finest lol I would have to do one or the other I could never do both at the same time

0
Jeanette

@Ashley it only works if the narrator of the book is really good. If they have a boring voice, I lose focus.

0
Ashley

@Jeanette oh okay I hate the monotone narrators they make the book sound boring and uninteresting to them. I like the upbeat excited narrators for audiobooks

No. I am reading during commercials , while watching a Christmas movie on the Halmark channel.
I am reading The Wreck of The Edmond Fitzgerald.
By Frederick Storehouse.

Lynn

@Judy I’m from Michigan, and read that book back in 1986, while listening to the song (the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald) – very dirge like. I loved the book, & have swum in Lake Superior. But am from Alpena, MI, on Lake Huron. Really miss MI, am living in AR.

0
Judy

@Lynn I read the book a long time ago too, but am reading it again. I loved the song and heard it on the radio not too long ago. So it got me thinking about the book.
Is your book a paperback or hardcover? Mine is a paperback and it is a 25th Anniversary Updated Edition one. I live in Canada. The most southern point of Ontario near Point Pele.

0
Lynn

@Judy mine is hardcover. My husband (who passed away this year) graduated from Lake Superior State College in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan. We lived there twice; once when we were first married, then later when he came back from Vietnam. We did cross the border a couple times, and once we went to Windsor. I also have a friend in Manitoba. I’m glad you like the book. My husbands cousin went down when the Bradley went down in Lake Michigan. A lot of the men died from my husbands home town of Rogers City, Michigan in that sinking. My husband remembers the line of caskets. Whenever I hear the song of The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, it brings back a lot of memories. Whenever possible, I try to listen to any music associated with a book. I read a Buddy Holly Bio, and bought a set of his CDs. Doesn’t it make it more interesting?

0
Judy

@Lynn Sorry to hear of your loss. It must have been a sight to see all those caskets. Very sad. I have not read Budy Holly Bio. I saw and loved the La Bamba movie though. And the song too. Very Tragic what happend to them.
If you get a chance to come over to Windsor again you should come down to Leamington and check out the Point Pelee National park.
