I loved graceling! I haven’t read the others tbh but graceling helped me get back into reading when I didn’t have the mindset to do so for several years

I loved Graceling, and the entire series. Gripping and creative. Not your typical fantasy. I recently tried to read A Discovery of Witches and personally I could not get through it. I read about 150 pages, sluggishly, before I put it away. I have heard a lot of good things about it, but I just couldn’t get in to it.

Not read Graceling, didn’t like the weird subplot that joins back into the main plot for Tearling, loved A Discovery of Witches.

I read the graceling realm, they were pretty good, but the second book in a discovery of witches I didn’t finish. It was a little slow to me. I haven’t read the other one though.

Oh my god Discovery of witches. It is just, GAH TRUST ME READ IT. Such amazing writing and a highly complex plot that only reveals itself to be complex in the sequel and forward. I learned about so many new topics and just it’s all so good

To be honest i’ve read a lot of books like Graceling and this one i didn’t particulary like. It was boring. At half of the book i just lost interest. Fate of the Tearling was good. I mean, its the typical young adulthood ganre- strong heroine, kingdom ect. I like the idea in these series. It was interesting though it remined me a little of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson. Fate of the Tearling are series you can read in your free time or in-between other series. A Discovery of Witches are good series. Its very interesting and it think you wont regret reading it. I dont have anything bad to say about them ;D So all in all i recommend A Discovery of Witches.

I loved the tearling series! It was such a twist on the classic fantasy. I have only read fire from the graceling series and loved that. Was not too keen on a discovery of witches. I could never get into it. But maybe soon I will give it another go

Haven’t read the others, but Graceling is terrible. One of the worst YA books, imo.

@Bridget why?

Siena Kabay Ehhh.. I just didn’t care for Katsa. She was a selfish, whiny, and immature narrator. The world-building was also lack-luster, and I felt it was trying to hard to be a “kick-butt feminist” read. Just not my cup of tea. ?

I’ve only read A Discovery of Witches, and absolutely love it! I did it by audio, and I was just swept away. It’s the kind of series that you sit with and just get to absorb something beautiful, rich in history, imagery, love, art, language and revel in it. I own the Graceling series, but haven’t read, along with Tearling, still TBR.

If you can do A Discovery of Witches on audio, do so, it’s a gorgeous slow burn ❤

Okay so Graceling is pretty damn good, but I think A Discovery of Witches is a little better in terms of writing. Both have incredible plots. I remember being obsessed with both, but I honestly prefer A Discovery of Witches.

“Graceling”, “Fire” and “Bitterblue” were awesome – I read “fate of the tearling”, too but could not get into the second one – and I never finished “the discovery of witches” because my vampire phase was totally over , so over I disliked every vampire love story crossing my way.

ALL OF THEM ARE AMAZING!!!! Tearling for me was something new, something provocative and refreshing, there was almost no love (romantic one) and it was dystopian AND utopian, it was futuristic AND historic….it was perfection…Graceling also something new at the time I was reading it (which was a long time ago 😀 ) and it was veeery god 🙂 and Discovery of witches well that is something I am currently reading, I am on book 3 and I must say, the first one was promising but the second was AMAZING!!! it was very … captivating 🙂 so thumbs up for all of them 🙂
