The first last kiss
When I was younger much younger I read a book called Abandoned about a tiny black kitten with a very sad ending ? it still haunts me today ?
But as an adult the last book I cried over was The Silence of the Monte Sol can’t remember the author but it was about the nazi invasion of the Italy alps and very harrowing ?
Jodi Picoult book the storyteller is about the nazi invasion and it made me so emotional!
@Tara ahh thanks I will put it on my list ?
Emi Lost & Found Series by Lori Otto
Marley & Me ?
Never read the book but the movie makes me cry so much!!!! I can’t handle when something happens to animals !
The fault in our stars only because the wrong person dies in my opinion. ???
I was so shocked at how it turned out!
Me too… I fell in love with him. ? not fair ?
Same!!!!! It was a good twist though you never saw it coming!
Dancing on broken glass by KA Hancock

The book thief x
I think this is on TV on Saturday in UK
the film had no affect on me but every time i read the book I cry !
its a lovely but sad book/film. it was just so moving, I will remember it for a long time.x
The walk to remeber ♥
My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Piccoult had me ugly crying by the end of the book. Reason to Breathe by Rebecca Donovan did as well. So emotional!
Omg reason to breathe is such a heart wrenching series!
Oh I know! I still cannot get over that series!
Nightroad !!! Could not see the last page , through my tears !!!
That’s the first book I read by her and I was hooked! Have you read Firefly Lane?
The Nightingale – best book ever and not the most attractive book to read by the pool on holiday !! ???
I’m an emotional reader, I cry all the time! But the most tear jerker will be Angela’s ashes 🙁
I’ll have to read this! I love books that make you feel deeply
Captain Corelli’s Mandolin
Harry Potter and the half blood prince. Cried like a baby.
I forgot the HP books – for me Deathly Hallows gave me some proper howlers!
I think this is probably the only famous series I’ve never read!
Roots
Cried so much in this too!
The green mile also made me cry buckets!! X
My sisters keeper by Jodi Picoult. I cried for 30 minutes after I finished and was emotionally drained from that entire book.
I 100% agree with you!! Xx
All her books are so emotional! I love her writing! She’s by far my favourite author
She is one of my favorites also @Tara!!
I howled when I read The Nightingale! ?
Ove, the book thief and fault in our stars – I blurbered like a baby at all 3!
Book thief, yes, same!!!!
theres 2 parts and they both get me in equal measure and its a full on sob.
My Girl. My dad caught me staying up all night to finish it and he sat with me until I told him what was wrong and just stared when I told him the book ?? everyone needs to read it
PS I love you, The Nightingale, Me before You, The Book Thief, Once we were Brothers, A man called Ove, Two Brothers, The Storyteller, The Island, The Kite Runner, a thousand splendid suns and believe it or not the last Lord of The Rings book. What can I say, I’m a very emotional person lol ? x
I’m an emotional person too! I bawled more reading “Me Before You” than watching the movie. I’ve only watched the movie, “P.S. I Love You,” but I used half a roll of toilet paper from crying and I actually paused the movie; I don’t think I have the courage to read the book. 😉
Don’t get me started on movies. I dare not go & see a weepie at the cinema. I came out of watching Les Miserables with no make up left on ???
@Sarah That is the exact reason why I wait the mandatory 3 months for the movie to come out on DVD. That way, I can cry at home; and also pause for snacks and bathroom breaks. 😉
Oh ladies, don’t take me to the movies either! Same, very emotional… My friends were shocked that I teared up during Malificent!
The book of p.s I love you is so different from the movie but just as emotional if not more! I recommend a big box of tissues if you read it! X
I had to take myself off alone for Two Brothers.
Fault in our stars. The art of hearing heartbeats by Jan Philip sendker. The storyteller by Jodi Picoult. Dandelion clocks by Rebecca Westcott .All the bright places by Jennifer Niven. ?

The Last Days of Rabbit Hayes!
Me Before You, Jojo Moyes
Oh yes, I forgot about this one. I sobbed for about an hour!
That was a real tear jerker
Mine too, wept in the corner of a room, my kids were really worried ?
Tuesday’s with Morrie, Mitch Albom. My mother suffered and succumbed to that horrible disease als, so this book is very personal. A dog’s purpose was a really great one for bringing the waterworks too! (I have not seen the movie) I have so many great tear jerkers in my collection, but so many have already been mentioned!
That’s one of my favourite books ever!
I forgot about The Five People You Meet In Heaven! Yes, Mitch Albom’s beautiful stories make me cry.
Every book of his makes me cry!! <3 his work!!!
And dogs purpose too!!!
When breath becomes air for me, couldn’t see the words for tears x
His wife’s ending to the book was the part that really got me ?
Only book to ever make me sniffle was The Gift by Danielle Steel. Great book
Love that book!
A Monster Calls had me sobbing at the end. I don’t really cry at books, which is weird since I cry at everything else!
I was ok with the book – but only because I had seen the film first!
I don’t know if I can handle the film!
I can’t recommend it – it was tough! However it was an excellent adaptation of the book.
This book touched me too! Is there a film??!!
Yes there is a film – I saw it earlier this year.
I’ll get the tissues ready 😉
A Thousand Splendid Suns (natch)
And my first book cry… (about age 12)… Love Story
I’ve cried at many books but a few that spring to mind – ” Letters to my wife” by Terry Dean, ” the Lost Wife” Alyson Richman , “Marley and Me ” ,
I am a very emotional reader…I think when I read The fault in our stars I cried from the beginning to the very end…also, as a teenager I remember reading Love story locked up in the toilet and bawling…I can also cry with joy when something good happens in a book…
I’m the same I cry with happiness in books too

A walk to remember
I want to read this! I loved the movie but I always prefer books
The time travelers wife and me before you
The time travelers wife made me cry so much at the end! I only read it a few months ago and since I’d seen the movie many times I thought I’d be fine reading it but nope was still crying long after I finished it lol
Ditto on both of these. I finished Time Traveller on an airplane…lost a dignity card…big time!
Also the light between oceans- I couldn’t even bear the thought of those circumstances.
Yes! I read this not long ago beautiful heartbreaking story!
I wanted to write more here but didn’t want to give any spoilers away!
Loved the Dave Pelzer trilogy – but my favorite was A Man Called Dave – i found myself sobbing

I should have added that to my list. Amazing novel.
The Art of Racing in the Rain and The Nightingale.
‘Lucky’ by Alice Sebold
Last days of Rabbit Hayes…cried the entire way through but absolutely loved it
I must read Pearl Harbour. The movie makes wail so I’m curious to see if the book does the same 🙂
I didn’t know it was originally a book!
Yep, I have it in my tbr pile 🙂
Two books come to mind. Dying Wish by @Margaret and Always You by Belle Brooks.
To The End of The Land, by David Grossman
Me before you and Room
Desert flower by Waris Dearie so so sad
And harrowing but a book evrryone should read.
The Nightingale, the Secret Wife, A Virtual Affair and the end of Firefly lane
Thank you for all your comments! I’ve just added lots of ‘want to read’ books to my goodreads app!
TKAMB was the first book that made me cry.
Birdsong,
A Thousand Splendid Suns.
The Taste of Sorrow by Jude Morgan (about the Bronte family) recently made my eyes leak….,
