My husband used to pick all of them since I never could lol. I’d read him the synopsis of my top picks and he’d pick one.

My husband takes me into a Christian bookstore and lets me loose for about 15 minutes to an hour. I know my budget and choose what I want. He does this on holidays and after a doctor appointment with my surgeon to make sure the cancer isn’t back.

I’ve never asked him to!! Picking out books is a totally personal/independent experience for me….unless I’m in the midst of a series I never specify a certain book. He will usually let me loose in Half Price Books for an hour (of course he is guaranteed pick of where to eat out that day!!) Christmas will usually be Amazon gift cards!

@Hannah there was only one time during Christmas when he actually picked out a book for me by himself and somehow managed to buy me the same exact book I was already currently reading ??‍♀️?? it’s safe to say after that he just stuck to the lists I had given him and I’ve ended up with a lot of Stephen King books ?

Anything by Lisa Scottoline. He reads audiobooks, and his tastes are usually different than mine. But he does listen to Lisa Scottoline books, which I enjoy — and he knows that. 🙂

3/4 of my books, my hubby has got me. He’s not a reader, BUT, he will listen to me talk about them, help me find them, and do his best to understand why i am bawling my eyes out because of a book. 🙂

My husband and I just had a bookstore date! I chose a book for him and he chose a book for me. It was fun. I heard about it on a Podcast “he read/she read”. He chose “The Witch of Willow Hall”. I’m about half-way thru — it is pretty good. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Atmospheric for the Fall, which is good (for me anyway).

@Dusti a CJ Box book–Winterkill, I think was the name of it. I knew it was the next in the series for him.

My boyfriend knows I’m obsessed with Shadowhunters. And my favorite character is Simon. He’s shopping and sees a Shadowhunter book with Simon in the cover (Tales from The Shadowhunter Academy) and thinks “She won’t have this obscure book! I’m getting it.” I had been rereading the Shadowhunters Chronicles and the next book to read was that one. I grab it off my shelf and start reading. My boyfriend looks over at me and says “I hate you” and takes my present out of its hiding place! ?

My husband loves romance books by Debbie Macomber, Sherryl Woods, Debbie Mason and Raeanne Thayne. He passes them to me when finished. Not my usual genre in the past but I am now catching up.❤️

Hmm. Good question, but since my husband–the Prof–only reads academic tomes or sci-fi, not sure I’d want him choosing anything for me!

None from the hubs, but my son has given me some great recs of things I would never have chosen. Favs we’re Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, a graphic memoir about growing up in Iran. And Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Persig, another memoir come to think about it. It’s so much better than it sounds; life lessons on a road trip with his son.
