2
Carmel

I’ve a 3 year old too… I’ve read 4 chapters…

1
Lauren

Yep I’ve got a nearly 3 year old too. It’s hard when you get into a book and have to decide if to feed them or keep reading!! 🙂

Erica

1
Judith

Sherry

@Judith Thanks for the heads up. The news is discincerting enough.

1
Judith

@Sherry . Lol. Gotta agree about the news. I have found a new book to read. The hunger by Alma Katsu. Hopefully will clear my head.

@Lauren lol I’m glad that I’m not alone ha I set a goal to reach 50 books this year but with work and life it’s challenging

1
Lauren

@Allana yep I’m hearing you!! I think I set mine at 20. But i would be happy with a book a month. I feel like the ones I have read I have really enjoyed so I’m finding myself reading slower to keep me reading them.

1
Allana

@Lauren some times I do that too! That’s a great goal. What do you like to read or I should say what are you reading now?

0
Marcy

I’m on book 5. Yay for us 🙂

Read at ur own pace. Do not stress.

0
GailQuestion author

I have always read fast. But any amount of books read is an accomplishment!

1
Laura

Gail Bauche Sawicki , I read fast as well, but I try not to match this crowd. I have my own personal goals of 12 epic novels, 2 Great biographies, and 5 inspirational nonfiction s.

I am a fast reader. Partly to maintain interest in what I am reading.

0
Amanda

If you have a smart phone and are cool with reading that way, put the kindle app on your phone. You’d be amazed at how much more you read. That’s how I read a lot last year. 150. I’m only at 34 for the year so far, about ten behind where I was this time last year.

1
Carolyn

I just finished #20!!!

34 or 35, 10 behind where I was at this point last year.

Can I just say how exciting it is to find people who read as much as I do? Everyone I know seems to think it’s this accomplishment. Blah. To me it’s no big deal to read a book in a day.

Have always been that way. It helps that my kids are all grown and out of the house. Fortunately most of them are readers also!

1
Blessy

That’s so great! I used to be a fast reader too but now I have slowed down a lot due to work and other commitments. Also reading slowly does allow me to savour the book at a leisurely pace but how I miss those days when I could devour a book in few hours.

17 here, but I credit that pace to having one audiobook and one paper book going at the same time (well, not exactly the same time – that would be confusing). Oh, and to including some YA, as those go more quickly.

Karen

I’m at 37 read. I think I’m off pace to get to my goal of 225.

1

Holy moly! Have you made it to 225 in previous years? I get nervous upping mine to 50.

LOL! I hit 225 last year. Not sure if I’ll get there this year, though.
