I know! I’m impatiently waiting for my husband to take our 3 yr old to a bday party later (I am sooo skipping it, LOL!), so I can have a quiet house to read.

@Melanie , I totally get it! When I read the book, I would ask hubby what time he needed to leave to meet his guy friends for coffee or lunch and his response was: “Are you trying to get rid of me?” My answer was no just didn’t want him to miss his outing.?? Happy reading later!?

“The Black Isle” by Sandi Tan.It’s not in exactly the same vein, it’s kind of a mashup of genres and one of them is paranormal, along with Historical Fiction, but it does take place mainly during WWII, but along the South Pacific/Asian countries. It’s a book that has stuck with me and haunted me ever since I read it over a year ago, and parts of it are very hard to read (the Japanese were as cruel as the Nazis), but I certainly think it’s worth the read.

Best book I’ve read in a long time. It captured my attention the whole time. Have heard it’s being made into a movie. I don’t unduly reread books but I’ll definitely reread The Nightingale

I would love to see it done as a well made movie. I’ve pictured Lily James as Isabelle and Jessica Chastain as Vianne.

If one is looking forward a light summer read there are a lot of romance books.

Well, trying not to give spoilers, but Vianne is helping Rachel and her kids and yeah, my heart hurts.

Sobbing before bed, omg this book. Woke up once and started thinking about it before I fell back asleep, definitely a sign of a great story. About 120 pages left.
