After some soul-searching, I decided *not* to fully shut the blog down (though you could probably tell I was thinking about it, considering I took a lot of time off over the last couple of months). Even though I really don’t have the time for full-fledged reviews, I still wanted something that was a way to share some awesome books so I went the Instagram route. It gives me a chance to improve my photography skills, which I have to teach to my students anyway, with us being journalists who need to both write and photograph events. Plus, it’s really kind of fun, styling the shoot and trying new angles and depth of field and all that.
So, with that being said, here’s my first fancified, edited and curated Instagram post, reblogged here on my nearly-seven-year-old blog! (Hey, if you want to follow me on Instagram, I’m @thebookswarm.)
Last “read” of 2016: Pick Me Up by Adam J. Kurtz. Kind of reminds me of Wreck This Journal in that, along with inspiration, you follow directions and write all over the book. ⠀
It’s cute and fun and really did give a good pep talk, something I really needed after a *very* long 2016. A perfect prezzie for yourself (or someone else) to celebrate the new year!
