21795576Everything That Makes You by Moirah McStay

YA Contemporary, hardcover, 352 pages; published March 17, 2015 by Katherine Tegen Books; source: publisher

Kind of a Sliding Doors situation: Fiona is unscarred while Fi lives an unscarred life. While the writing kept me going until the end, kind of irritated w/ both faces of Fiona. 3 stars.

22836562Every Last Promise by Kristin Halbrook

YA Contemporary, paperback, 288 pages; published April 21, 2015 by HarperTeen; source: publisher

Heavier than I expected (thus the reason I don’t read a lot of contemps). Didn’t really hit it off w/ main character but she fit the story. Issues handled well. 3 stars.

22864829Wrong About the Guy by Claire LaZebnik

YA Contemporary, paperback, 368 pages; published April 21, 2015 by HarperTeen; source: publisher

Contemp retelling of Emma that was cute. A bit rush-rush through first chunk but the last quarter worked well. Elle (mod Emma) a bit annoying, liked the family relationships. 3 stars.

22539894Etherworld by Claudia Gabel, Cheryl Klam

YA SciFi, hardcover, 352 pages; published March 31, 2015 by Katherine Tegen Books; source: publisher

Liked the first in the duology, enjoyed the follow-up as Josh and Reagan work to save those they love…while finding a bit of smootchy time. Satisfying ending. 3 stars.

24338298Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid

YA Contemporary, hardcover, 320 pages; published August 4, 2015 by Harlequin Teen; source: publisher

Do like “To Do List” books but this one was a bit simplistic (uhg, high school cliches). However, liked how the characters were v. realistic, with their faults, foibles.
