Write On Review-a-Thon
Review-a-thon time! It’s definitely necessary. I have a zillion reviews to write — so many that I’m kind of embarrassed by the amount of reviews I have to write so I’m not going to tell you how many. No, seriously. The number is ridiculous. The blog took a back seat to, well, pretty much everything.

“Like what?” you might ask.

I’m so glad you asked! After a bit too much fun in NYC at BEA (can you really have *too* much fun when you’re surrounded by books and bookish friends? I’m going to have to say no.), I finished out the school year and collapsed in a large puddle on my couch. Then puddled onto the boat. Then back onto the couch. (I’m wrung out at the end of each school year. Thank god for recovery time.) THEN, I found this super-cheap ticket to Ireland and bought it. And went. Solo. It was glorious.

Hiking Connemara National Park on a typical wet Irish day.

Worried how many times this happened before they installed the sign.

Love the name of this beer (and it's pretty damn good, too! Worth the price, as it were. Hehe.).

I got very little reading done as I traveled the country (what kind of sick, twisted mind puts cars on the other side of the road,  steering wheels on the other side of the car AND stick shifts to be driven via a left hand?!? The Irish. God love ’em.) and tried out pretty much every pub I could find. It was like one long pub crawl. Again, glorious.

Big damn church! St. Patrick's in Dublin, actually.

Their pubs are so PRETTY! Look at all those gorgeous flowers and that high gloss black outside.

Of COURSE I went to the Guinness Storehouse and did the tour. So cool.

This was a session from my favorite day in Dublin. If you get the chance, hit up O'Donoghue's for the best trad Irish music and interesting bar patrons.

AND THEN, I decided it was finally time to bite the bullet and redo my kitchen (I’ve been planning and saving for this thing for *years* but just could wrap my head around the logistics involved. I finally realized it wasn’t going to get easier and that I just needed to DO IT. SO I DID!). Dad and I demoed…and decided to do the bathroom while we were at it (weird segue, I know, but Dad was paying for the house to be re-plumbed so *of course* I took advantage!). I learned how to tile and did the floor:

Dad watches a lot of "Holmes on Holmes" and was determined to use this orange base stuff. Okay, Dad (he's the one with the tools so I just nodded and went with it.).

Then it was on to demoing the kitchen, getting the plumbers in and the electricians…

Demo! (Really dark pic...sorry.)

It’s getting installed today.

New appliances and some cabinets in! Yay!

Whew! It’s been a busy couple of months, for sure. But this crosses a TON of things off my to-do list so I can get back to reading and writing and blogging. And going to pet my new kitchen when I make myself a drink.

So, what have you lovelies been up to? I can’t wait to get back into blogging and visiting y’all consistently again! (and not comment-bombing you, like I’ve been doing…)

As someone who is left handed and drives a stick shift I’d give it a try. Your bathroom and kitchen remodel are gorgeous.
