22472886It Started With a Scandal (Pennyroyal Green #10) by Julie Anne Long

(Historical Romance, Mass Market Paperback, 384 pages; published March 31, 2015 by Avon; source: publisher)
Highly enjoyed master/servant storyline filled w/ sparks, a take-charge woman & a relatively easygoing French lord. #10 but can read as standalone. 4 stars.

21805396An Heiress For All Seasons (Debutante Files #1.5) by Sophie Jordan

(Historical Romance, Kindle Edition; Published November 4, 2014 by Avon Impulse; source: publisher)
Read many S. Jordan’s that I’ve loved…not this one, not so much. Violet just annoyed me and, while Will wanted more from her, turnabout wasn’t happening. *sigh* 3 stars.

18513756The Girl With a Windup Heart (Steampunk Chronicles #4) by Kady Cross

(YA Steampunk, Hardcover, 396 pages; published May 27, 2014 by Harlequin TEEN; source: publisher)
Good if a bit hurried ending to a great series. Jack Dandy reigns as my fave character (tho he’s secondary in this book). Lots of buildup w/out a lot of follow-through. 3 1/2 stars.

22608385Chieftain By Command (Chieftain #2) by Frances Housden

(Historical Romance, Kindle Edition, 212 pages; published September 1, 2014 by Harlequin Enterprises; source: publisher)
With husband off to war, Katherine rules the roost but, when he returns, it’s a battle between both for the upper hand. V. Taming of the Shrew. Helps to read #1 first. 3 1/2 stars.

25587997Beauty’s Curse (Love On the High Seas #2) by Tamara Hughes

(Historical Romance, Kindle Edition, 175 pages; published June 9th 2015 by Entangled Publishing; source: publisher)
Was hoping for an alpha swashbuckling but got…David. Kind of a pushover. And poor Amelia, a girl with the worst luck ever (felt for her!). At least they got an HEA! 3 stars.

  1. Yeah historical romance Mary! I’ve been binge reading this genre lately too, I’ll definitely have to pick up the Julie Ann Long series, I haven’t read anything by her:) I liked the Sophie Jordan Debutante book I just finished, but I haven’t read this novella. Too bad it wasn’t quite all it could be!
