Welcome to the Pre-Squee, a feature here at The Book Swarm and the fabulous Bewitched Bookworms. Some books, though they might not be coming out for a few months, need an early squee — we just can’t hold in our excitement about them!
Okay, so it’s not a super-early pre-squee (as this story comes out in March) BUT I just finished this story and, day-am, I want my own T-Rex. Oh, yes, I do.
We first met Charlotte and her T-Rex in the first book, Rock Addiction. Charlotte, aka Charlie-mouse, has had a rough go of it and, because of her disastrous experience, is very wary around guys and has an incredibly tough time trusting anyone. Gabriel, rugby god-turned-savvy businessman, is the epitome of a swoon-worthy alpha. He’s fit, gorgeous, has tats (*fans self*), is tough when he needs to be and tender when it matters most. And, as he says, smart women are his catnip (sign me up!!).
I loved watching him woo Charlotte, so sweet and protective of her, while pushing her to break out of her shell and live up to her potential. I’m a total sucker for a transformation story, and Charlotte goes from Charlie-mouse to a confident woman who fully enjoys holding her own against Gabriel, her T-Rex. And the teasing, achingly slow lead-up to full-on smexytimes ain’t bad, either. I’ve found my first book boyfriend of 2015.Rock Hard by Nalini Singh
Series: Rock Kiss #2
Published by Self-Pubbed on March 10, 2015
Genres: Contemporary, Love & Romance
Pages: 284 pages
Wealthy businessman Gabriel Bishop rules the boardroom with the same determination and ruthlessness that made him a rock star on the rugby field. He knows what he wants, and he’ll go after it no-holds-barred.
And what he wants is Charlotte Baird.
Charlotte knows she’s a mouse. Emotionally scarred and painfully shy, she just wants to do her job and remain as invisible as possible. But the new CEO—a brilliant, broad-shouldered T-Rex of a man who growls and storms through the office, leaving carnage in his wake—clearly has other plans. Plans that may be equal parts business and bedroom.
If Charlotte intends to survive this battle of wits and hearts, the mouse will have to learn to wrangle the T-Rex. Game on.
