Come on, y’all, and play with us on Top Off Tuesday! Hosted by On a Book Bender, Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog, and Smitten with Reading, Top Off Tuesday features some of the best topless covers out there (and some pretty darned hilarious ones, too).

Always nice when you’ve got a rippled torso to haul your stuff and have your back when you need it. Props, girl.

So, while on assignment, Jim betrayed a younger Nicole, crushing her heart and setting her down her rather dark path. She went on to form a group of elite assassins while Jim leads his group of elite mercenaries (yeah, they’re all about the elites). But, when she’s offered a contract on her former lover’s life, she tracks him down and teams up with him, rather than putting a bullet through his cold heart (I don’t know. I would have been tempted…)

The sparks fly constantly between Jim and Nicole, as they track down the person who wants Jim dead. It’s fun but also frustrating because Jim doesn’t take ownership of his part in what happened between the two of them. (I mean, come on, Jim. You betrayed her, not the other way around.) However, both of their stubbornness leads to plenty of hot, angry smexytimes as they duck bullets and more assassination attempts (this person really has a hard-on for Jim’s death!). Fast-paced and sizzling, Midnight Action certainly lives up to its name and provides a great, second chance romance..

  1. “Jim doesn’t take ownership of his part in what happened between the two of them.”

That will really frustrate me. I’m a grudge holder Mary. A big one. I have the feeling Jim is going to be on my shit list for most of the book 😉 Still, he’s lack of ownership in what happened between them doesn’t seem to have detracted from your overall enjoyment, and I do love a second chance romance:)
