Come on, y’all, and play with us on Top Off Tuesday! Hosted by On a Book Bender, Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog, and Smitten with Reading, Top Off Tuesday features some of the best topless covers out there (and some pretty darned hilarious ones, too).

*fans self* *pushes girl out of way so I can complete the moves she’s making on that perfectly wonderful torso of a wet, muscled man*

Top Off Tuesday: The One With the Bedroom EyesKidnapping the Brazilian Tycoon by Carmen Falcone
Published by Macmillan on August 18, 2014
Genres: Romance
Pages: 233

Passion was never in the bargain Addison Reed lost her fiancé, but she’ll do whatever it takes to protect his legacy. When the gorgeous and arrogant landowner, Brazilian billionaire Bruno Duarte, who is thwarting her at every turn, refuses to meet with her, she puts her plan into action. He will listen to her.

Bruno’s plan was simple: return to Brazil and marry to fulfill his father’s dying wish. But when his engagement crumbles, and he’s then stranded with an idealistic woman hell-bent on saving a tribe of people on his land, he sees the perfect solution. If his feisty and passionate abductor agrees to a bogus marriage, he’ll relocate the tribe.

With the Brazilian heat rivaling the growing heat of their desire, will Bruno and Addison abandon their respective plans and give in to each other, or will their differences tear them apart?

Well, sad to say I didn’t finish this one. Too preachy. Too worried about the environment (a completely fabulous cause…but not within the pages of a romance novel. I want passion and steam…not to be talked at about the decimation of the land and the native peoples who reside upon it. That’s what nonfiction is for, thankyouverymuch.) I was pretty excited about this one because, well, Brazilian men are quite sexy and there was plenty of potential for conflict and smexytimes but I couldn’t get past the lunacy of the girl who decides it’s a good idea to kidnap a guy in order to further her environmental cause. Seriously, honey? Just…no.

  1. Too bad the book didn’t work for you (strange, though, it’s not easy to ruin hot Brazilian men for a romance reader), but you’ll always have the cover, right? And well, this one is very easy on the eyes. I shall now stare some more. And no, it won’t be creepy at all.

  2. I approve of wet, shirtless men Mary. Always. Such a shame that behind this gorgeous cover is a story that’s a bit preachy. I’m with you – the environment is a great cause and something that definitely needs to be addressed, but not necessarily in a romance novel. 🙂
