Waiting On…RED BLOODED by Amanda Carlson

As much as I adore this series, I really dislike this cover. The title treatment is good, as it’s consistent with the others but the colors of orchid purple and pinkish red are just not thrilling me. And, seriously, someone needs to get poor Jessica a huge sandwich. I’m sure running around like a crazy woman ever since she changed into the only female werewolf has burned mucho calories but, dear lord, you can see her breastbones. And does she even have enough muscle to hold that gun for long? I mean, come on. Let’s make this chick, who’s supposedly a bad-assed werewolf who can hold her own against some major bad guys, athletic at least. Her wolf form has got to be emaciated and, if she is, there’s no way she can kick any ass of any kind. Not even a fuzzy bunny.

This series though? Two thumbs up.

  1. Haha, yes Mary! She needs a sandwich, pronto. I feel like I need one, just from looking at her. I’m behind in this series, like I am with all the good UF ones, but it’s on my beach list. SOOOOOON!

  2. I haven’t read any of the Jessica McClain series, but love the sound of it. She does look like she could use sandwich, maybe even a steak dinner since she’s shape-shifting werewolf!

  3. Why am I not reading this series Mary? Answer: Because I fail at life. Clearly.

I agree on the cover, it’s not my favorite. I don’t mind the color actually, but that woman is super thin and I’m not so much getting a kick ass vibe from her. A few more pounds would be fantastic:)
