Top Off Tuesday: CURSED LOVE by t.h. snyder

Started by FeliciaChristi and Amanda, Top Off Tuesday is where a bunch of us share hot-hot-hot book covers (some we’ve read, some we’ve just drooled on). Head over to Felicia’s blog to share your ToT link and see what everyone else is swooning over.

Aw. Poor Lincoln. Such a curse to have everything everyone wants. Bless his heart. Not sure if this is one I’d pick up but at least he’s hot (though I do wish the cover designer hadn’t covered up so much of his delicious abs!).

New Adult (I guess? Not sure what kind of NA it is…except there’s a hot, shirtless and tatted guy on the cover. To me, that usually means romance but it wasn’t categorized in Goodreads and I couldn’t find it in Amazon. Perhaps not the best marketing plan, though I don’t know much about how self-pubbing works. Can you not do pre-orders?)
Expected publication: Today (March 26, 2014)

Lincoln Minzotto has the life everyone wants, yet he resents it.

He’s grown up as the youngest of three children to a wealthy congressman and successful lawyer. Pushed to his absolute excellence, Linc felt the real path for him was different than his parents’ hopes and dreams.

On the most important night of his father’s reelection, Linc makes a choice that will lead to a lifetime of regret.

Deciding to start a new life, he and his best friend, Daulton, purchase a rundown tattoo shop called Cursed Magic.

While restoring Cursed Magic, Linc’s faith in life is put to the test in more ways than one. Faced with the horrors of the bleak, starless nights and the women that come and go, he decides to give up all together, until one fateful night with a stranger.

Will one night shape his future forever? Can he turn the Curse he’s endured into a blessing even though all odds are against him?

  1. I’m not sure how much I buy the premise of this book (haven’t seen too many politician’s kids of that variety), BUT I’m definitely okay with that cover. And by “okay” I mean I can’t decide what I like best–his chin, chest, or arms 😉

  2. He does have some nice looking sleeves! And arms. And abs.

Random: no, most self-pubbed titles don’t have a pre-order option. There are a few high-producing/selling self-pubbers that can score pre-orders by working with Amazon on a case by case basis, but for the most part, the books don’t exist until the author uploads it.

  3. Well, hello there. Yes to his abs and tattoos. No to the cover designer covering up the good stuff. Though admittedly, there isn’t really anywhere else they could have put the title. Details 😉

  4. You can do preorders but most self published don’t, so it must be tricky or something. It’s kind of a strange cover, like the font doesn’t match. But the shirtless man should draw in people! lol

    • Thank you! It’s got to be tricky — I can’t even imagine all the work that goes into self-pubbing, much less getting it ready for something as complex as a pre-order.

    • Places like Amazon only let self-pubs add pre-orders based on past performance. So you’re kind of like a “sure thing” as far as delivering the manuscript on time and having it sell. Not everyone can do it, and Amazon comes to you. It’s not a feature you can request.

    • I’m learning so much about self-publishing here! I guess can understand Amazon not allowing pre-orders for most self-pubs (except, like you said, the “sure things”) because, what do you do if the author doesn’t come through?

  5. Hm… I do like… as are those ACTUAL tats? So much better than the obviously fake ones we usually get. I agree.. what up designer? Don’t like the abs? Jelly? Well, designer guy (I’m guessing..) get over it and give us those abs! 😉

  6. It seems like self-published works aren’t usually listed on Amazon until after the release date. At least that’s been the case for me when I look for titles. I could be wrong. Wow, this girl above (Kellie) got her panties in a bunch. Ooops! Get your facts straight, Mary! Just kidding, lol! I’m not really well informed on how all this works either. I just read the books! 🙂

    • Seriously! And I did learn something about self-pubbing today (the release date, not the fact that making comments about self-publishing brings out the trolls and sock puppets) so yay. I’m now better informed though, really, I’m just here for the books.

    • Oh wow, that sucks! I’m sorry to hear that Mary. I don’t get these people. Don’t they realize that just featuring a book brings attention that will make others read it? Same with negative reviews. Not necessarily a bad thing for a book. Sometimes I’ll read a book because of a negative review.

  7. Wow I love a guy with tattoo sleeves, I find guys with them really hard to resist! Thanks for sharing another gorgeous cover with us! <333
