Top Off Tuesday and Review: Hot Marine all in green!

Started by FeliciaChristi and Amanda, Top Off Tuesday is where a bunch of us share hot-hot-hot book covers (some we’ve read, some we’ve just drooled on). Head over to Felicia’s blog to share your ToT link and see what everyone else is swooning over.

While I’m not a fan of the all-one-color covers (this is a trend in this Entangled line), I’m always a fan of a nekkid man (well, torso), especially when it looks as lovely as this. However, I think I’d move the chick over (maybe put her hand over his package, just as a tease) so we’d have a double-nip cover. Those always make us happy. Right, girls?

She thought she’d sworn off military men for good…

Sam Kercher is every inch a wickedly hot Marine. Tall. Sexy. Lethal. When his best friends call in a favor, Sam is forced to face an entirely new line of duty—playing nanny for their newly divorced sister and her squirming seven-month-old twin boys. If Sam can dissemble an M16 in his sleep, diaper duty should be a cakewalk…right?

Unfortunately, Operation Nanny isn’t quite that simple. Sheridan has sworn off overbearing military men, so Sam must protect her from her dirtbag ex without revealing just how much he has in common with her brothers. Or that he’s been ordered not to touch her. Ever. Problem is, Sheri’s one hell of a gorgeous woman, capable of making this hard-bodied marine even harder. And Sam wants her bad.

Protect the girl. Care for the babies. Hide his identity. And keep his hands off. But even the most disciplined Marine has weaknesses…and Sheridan is one Sam might not be able to resist.

What is it about military men that makes me go weak in the knees? Dangerous, well-trained, muscled and smart — Sam is just my type. He’s Sheridan’s type, too, though she’s currently off men due to her twin babies and lying, cheating scum of an ex-husband who’s currently harassing her, trying to get back in her good graces.

Sheri’s hot, overprotective brother Mac (ooh, can’t wait for a story about him!) is worried about her but he knows she’ll flip a lid if he sticks her with a bodyguard so he hires Sam, a marine who hasn’t yet decided if he’s going to re-up (a difficult last sniper assignment has messed with his head a bit), to play manny and pretend NOT to be a military man of any type while protecting Sheri from her creepy ex.

Y’all, thank goodness I was sick yesterday — I was able to read this story in one sitting, on the day it released. I LOVE when that happens (not the sick part. That sucked.). One of my favorite things about Tawna Fenske’s writing is the banter and heat she creates between her two main characters and this story is no different. With Mac’s warning not to touch his sister ringing in his ears, Sam’s trying to be a good guy and not do Sheri up against the wall, even though he boned up pretty much as soon as he saw her (he’d run into her in college and never forgot her so it isn’t like he’s just a lust-bunny). Visions of her ex with his stripper dancing in her head, Sheri’s just not ready for another relationship until Sam comes along.

Want fabulous heat, giggle-inducing banter and a fun, unputdownable story? Hire yourself a marine and enjoy.

  1. Okay. I’m going to have to give my brother a SERIOUS lecture about his lack of hiring a hot military bodyguard for me. WTH? Honestly. This sounds like a fantastic read, and I’m in complete agreement on the cover, she needs to move a little to the left so we can see more of that sexy midsection:)

  2. I like how you rework it. I can see it all in my head…I esp. like the thought of her hand on his package. hmmm, but it is a pretty cover as is, too! Nice choice! smiles….

  3. It’s the strenght, it’s the testosterone, it’s those well-defined muscles! I’m quite ready for a soldier of my very own. Please alert the Universe. AND the media.
I usually read romance in one sitting too, it’s the only way. so I’m glad it worked with this. I’ll give it a try over the weekend too.

  4. Oh romantic suspense! I enjoy those more than I’m willing to admit. LOL I agree though… the woman needs to move over. I think everyone here would be arguing about whose hand it should be if it was placed over the package. Still, brilliant cover redesign! 😀

  5. That is definitely one advantage of being sick – lots of reading and mind-numbing TV! I have been seeing this one around and I also noticed the one color entangled trend but I do like the eye candy! If I’m not mistaken it’s the same couple we see everywhere too (the one n the Obsidian cover). It looks like her hair at least lol

  6. Oh my gosh I think this is my new favourite cover ever! I hope you’re feeling better Mary, but at least you were able to devour this little gem in one sitting! 😉

  7. I’ve been on a romance streak lately, craving these quick but satisfactory reads. I’ll have to add this to my list, so thanks for this review, Mary! 😀

  8. I’m sorry you were sick, but I’m glad you got to curl up with a marine to make yourself feel better. Works every time. 🙂 I think I could just gaze at this cover and start feeling better immediately (though yes, that chick needs to move on over. Maybe totally off the cover with just her hand peeking out.)

  9. Bring on all the nekkid me! — as long as they look like this guy. 😉

This book sounds like something I would really enjoy! I may just have to check it out now. 😉 I hope you’re feeling better!
