Waiting On: THE UNDEAD POOL by Kim Harrison

Oh, heck yeah! Rachel’s back and it looks like she’s got Trent at her back! (He doesn’t match how I pictured Trent at all…neither does Rachel’s hair. Oh, well.) If you haven’t ever read this series, I HIGHLY suggest reading it! I know twelve books seems like a lot but so much has happened and, besides between-the-covers stories that conclude nicely, there have been a couple overarching plotlines that keep me moving forward.

Love the cover (Even though the characters don’t match my mental picture). Love the colors. Can’t wait. CANNOT WAIT!

Urban Fantasy
512 pages, hardcover
Expected publication: February 25, 2014
Publisher: Harper Voyager

Witch and day-walking demon Rachel Morgan has managed to save the demonic ever after from shrinking, but at a high cost. Now strange magic is attacking Cincinnati and the Hollows, causing spells to backfire or go horribly wrong, and the truce between the races, between Inderlander and human, is shattering.

Rachel must stop the occurrences before the undead vampire masters who keep the rest of the undead under control are lost and it becomes all-out supernatural war. However, the only way to do so is through the ancient elven wild magic, which carries its own perils.

  1. I stopped after book 2, clearly because I’m an idiot. I’ll get the rest on audio and take it slowly. I actually liked Trent even in book 1 when he was a sadistic jerk so I can’t wait to see different sides of him.

  2. I gave up on this series after a certain thing happened fairly early on. Book 4 maybe? I just couldn’t deal, I don’t handle things like that well and I loved him so much! That being said though I am super curious about Trent, and I kind of want to see how things are between him and Rachel:) Which book is it where they start to get together? How long after book 4?

  3. I love Jenny’s comment! Now I need to know what certain thing happened and it better not have involved a certain side character that I loved in book 1!

  4. Whoa. 12 books? That’s just a lot of reading …. *stares*

I love the comments here. Now I’m all curious. When DID Rachel and Trent get together? Are they even together? WHAT HAPPENED, MARY?!

  5. I have so much catching up to do to get to this, but if you’re still this invested, I know it’s worth it! I always think it’s so funny when I have a mental image of a character in my head and then the cover is WAY different than my imagination. It happens all too often. I think my brain just works differently than these cover designers.

I have read every one and yes I cried and threw a fit over book 4 but life does go on and I have come to love Trent & Rachel! I re-read the 11 books I have ever so often and look for all the “spoilers” for the 12th The Undead Pool! Chapters 1-4 are available and will only wet you appetite for MORE…
