Waiting on…ONCE EVERY NEVER by Lesley Livingston

Clarinet Reid is a pretty typical teenager. On the surface. She’s smart, but a bit of slacker; outgoing, but just a little insecure; not exactly a mischief-maker… but trouble tends to find her wherever she goes. Also? She unwittingly carries a centuries-old Druid Blood Curse running through her veins.

Now, with a single thoughtless act, what started off as the Summer Vacation in Dullsville suddenly spirals into a deadly race to find a stolen artifact, avert an explosive catastrophe, save a Celtic warrior princess, right a dreadful wrong that happened centuries before Clare was even born, and if there’s still time—literally—maybe even get a date.

This is the kind of adventure that happens to a girl once every… never.

Doesn’t that sound awesome (though I did have to giggle about her name. Seriously…Clarinet Reid?!? Fabulous. Poor girl.)? I love druid and Celtic mythology! But I think it’s only being released in Canada at the moment (According to GoodReads, it’s due to be released by Penguin Canada July 14, 2011). Boo! I tried to find it on both Amazon and Book Depository but nada yet.

Waiting On is a meme run by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

  1. Yah, I’m not too sure about the name “Clarinet Reid” … especially because you use a reed to play a clarinet. Kind of weird, haha. But I’ve heard great things about this one, I can’t wait to read it!

I think it’s out in stores here already… at least I saw it in Chapters last weekend. It’s too bad that it can’t be found more easily for people outside of Canada, but I have to say I feel a bit gleeful that for once Canada has something that the States doesn’t. =b

  2. I’m pretty sure it’s only going to be in Canada, but that could change. Especially since Lesley just announced that it’s going to be part of a series now with at least two more books. So, I could totally see them publishing it Internationally in a little while. Also, I live in Canada, and I can order off of Amazon.com, so I don’t see why people from other countries couldn’t order off of Amazon.ca, so you could try ordering it there. Or on the Chapters of Indigo website, but I’m not sure if that one ships Internationally. Hopefully you can order it from one of those two sites. 🙂

  3. Gah! Darned Canadians! Love ya’ll but I think you’re enjoying my no-Lesley-Livingston pain a bit too much. *sigh* Hopefully, it’ll be available in the US some day. Enjoy!
